Encompassing an area of approximately 404 square kilometers (156 square miles), the district is strategically positioned at a latitude of 27.2282031 and a longitude of 88.587925. Additionally, it holds geopolitical significance due to its proximity to the international borders of the People’s Republic of China and Bhutan, making it a critical area from both administrative and security perspectives.
