Systematic Voters’ Education & Electoral Participation (SVEEP) awareness

Pakyong, 3 April (IPR): In accordance with the guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India (ECI), the District Election Authority of Pakyong coordinated HAAT NATAK, an awareness play under the Systematic Voters’ Education & Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programme.
The initiative was executed by Block Level Officers of various Assembly Constituencies and performed by Pakyong Sikshit Berozgar Sachet Nari at Pakyong Haat Bazar, following the directives laid out by the Election Department.
The play aimed to engage and educate the audience about electoral participation as a component of the Systematic Voters’ Education & Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programme.
The primary objective of the play was to promote voter education and raise public awareness about their rights and responsibilities to encourage democratic participation.
In order to achieve the highest voter turnout during the upcoming general election in 2024, efforts were made to raise awareness among all voter groups. Special attention was given to promoting voting from home and encouraging newly eligible voters to participate in the electoral process.
Conducted in a public setting, the performance incorporated creative storytelling and interactive elements to convey essential messages on informed decision-making and the importance of each vote.
Among the officials present at the event were Mrs Merina Rai, Joint Secretary of the Election Department, Block Level Officers, Election Department staff, and members of the general public.
