ELECTION DEPARTMENT

Brief introduction:

The district election office is headed by the District Election Officer (District Collector, Pakyong) who is appointed by the Election Commission of India, in consultation with the Office of Chief Electoral Officer, Sikkim and in accordance with the provision of Representation of People Act, 1950.He supervises the preparation, revision and correction of electoral rolls and the conduct of all elections in the Pakyong District. The District Electoral Officer is assisted by one Joint Secretary and five sub-ordinate staff.
